This library display is a generative and participatory exploration into learning about artistic ecologies that operate beyond expected and often exclusive centers of art production and power.

Gathering content from artists, partners and friends we are currently working with, have previously worked with, or are keen to meet, the evolving display of postcards generates a melting pot of familiar and new voices, and will grow throughout its lifespan through the addition of new postcards created by visitors to the space.

The project's first phase includes the collection of postcard responses to provocations and questions on where art thrives. These have been sent out across the UK and returned to our space to be displayed.

The second phase of the project and evolving display is a convening of a group of artists and art workers from various localities and foci across the UK, taking place in September. By bringing them together in London, we will provide a space for meaningful connections and collaborative workshops aimed at unpacking questions of building belonging, thriving in different spaces, and shifting perspectives along the way. This is unpacked visually and displayed on our library walls alongside the material gathered through the postcards.
